Sunday at The Studio Museum in Harlem

The Studio Museum in Harlem is one of my favorite cultural institutions in the Big Apple. With rotating exhibitions every two - three months it was a pleasure to catch the final day of an exhibit. Target sponsors Studio Museum go-ers every Sunday by offering free admission!! [p.s. my mom has a cameo in the first photo outside of the building :)]

Exhibits seen:

• Skin and Bones: Chronicles 20 Years of Drawing by artist Trenton Doyle Hancock
• Salon Style: "looks at artists that use hair and fingernails as subjects or media in order to explore the complexities of identity, and issues such as gender, politics and consumerism"
• Concealed: Selections from the Permanent Collection: "includes works by modern and contemporary artists that address masking as art and performance"
