Reflections: Portrait Project

What to Expect

Back to Reflections

First off, thank you for being here, and for your curiosity and possible interest in being part of this passion project of mine. Here, you'll find more info on what to expect during the interview/photo session. Additionally, I've included more background on the project and my motivation.

The in-person interview/portrait session is relaxed and casual. I'll use my phone to record the audio of our conversation and then a digital camera to take some portraits. Typically, the interview lasts about 20 minutes, followed by a 15 - 20 minute portrait session. To keep things easy and enjoyable, feel free to wear your everyday attire or something you’ve always wanted to be photographed in, no stress. We'll take the portraits at or near the interview location; we can brainstorm the location together. I'll have a mix of prepared and customized questions that align with our natural flow. Your participation is greatly appreciated, and I'm honored to have you involved.

Below are a few questions that I ask everyone, but the rest will be customized and tailored based on the flow of our conversation.

• Where were you born, and where do you live now?

• If you could give a piece of advice to your younger self, what would it be?

• Is there a quote that deeply resonates with you? Why?

A little more about me and my motivation behind this project:

Having practiced photography for over a decade, I often perceive myself as a versatile photographer who learns through the pressures of commissioned work. I am so grateful for With this project, my primary objective is to refine my photography skills while embracing a more carefree and playful approach, freeing myself from the constraints of perfectionism. This journey grants me the space to slow down and rediscover the curiosity and intuition of my inner child. Furthermore, through artistic exploration, I strive to establish profound connections with others by delving into existential topics and themes that deeply fascinate me but are seldom openly discussed in our daily lives.
